In 2016 I was involved in a motorcycle accident and damaged my wrist, the damage was significant enough that I had to contemplate life not being able to ride again.

Whilst recovering from surgery, a friend of mine rode his motorcycle over and his leathers were filthy and that's all I could think about.

So I asked him if he was ever going to clean them, he said "nah, once they go crusty and fall apart, I'll buy a new set. A little light bulb went off in my head and thought that it's such a waste. My wife asked what I'll do if I'm not able to ride anymore as my passion is motorcycles. I said if I'm able to, I want to clean up people's leathers. It will help them save money in the long run as their leather will last longer. People get attached to their items and don't want to have to replace them.

A few months later once I was recovered, I put a post on Facebook asking if anyone wanted their leathers cleaned, in 24 hours I had 4 people reply and I thought I could make something of this, a little while later, Drop Your Gear was born.

Drop Your Gear is now an award-winning business that specialIses in leather cleaning and restoration for a variety of leather goods, including handbags and motorcycle clothing. We are proud to have received the award for Best Small Business of the Year 2022 as well as being nominated for best small business and customer services for the past 8 years. Our focus is on providing the best service for our customers, whether you are dropping off items or sending them to us by post. We also cater to those looking to enhance the quality of their car interiors with our expert services.

Valet services for car interiors, sofa's and motorcycle clothing start at £100. Leather restoration is from £50 extra, while re-colouring options are available from £60. For those in need of zip repairs for their motorcycle clothing or handbags, unfortunately we no longer offer zip repairs, but we have contacts that can help.
